As you should all be aware, we spent about a week in Cardiff. The other adventures we had were lost amid the joy of BBC PILGRIMAGE OH MY GOD WE ALMOST SAW MERLIN AHHHHHH!
But. Even without the adventures of July 5, Cardiff and Wales were fabulous. Cold and wet, but green and pretty and fabulous. See the (many many) pieces of photographic evidence below.
There are an insane number of pictures in this post, so I'm about to get fancy. They call what I am about to do 'inserting a jump break.' Watch carefully.

CARDIFF CASTLE AND GARDENS
Tomfoolery abounds. Many picture credit to Jessica.
The castle was, as castles tend to be, very old and very impressive. We all enjoyed wandering around with school-aged Welsh children. We especially enjoyed eavesdropping on their conversations and coo-ing over their precious wee little accents. Awwwww.
THE GARDENS
As you can see, the majority of out time was spent behaving questionably. Notable happenings include: Marie ninja-kicking like a crime-fighting gymnast, leaping of slippery planters, Miles getting stuck in a tree, Eden channeling her inner tree-goddess, and Jessica saving everyone's life and skull - repeatedly.
OTHER CASTLES
On the BBC Day, we were originally on a castle quest. We discovered the filming at Castell Coch, as you know. Afterwards, we rode our adrenaline high to another nearby castle (ANOTHER NEARBY CASTLE? WALES, HOW COOL ARE YOU?), the Caerphilly Castle. It was beautiful, and old, and the grounds were green and guess what else?
No rain! Blue skies! I have missed you so bad.
