I made it to New Zealand! No lost luggage, passport, or money. About three hours ago, I though I had lost my computer charger, due to the tininess of my room and the clothing strewn about, but no worries! Everything is accounted for.
Speaking of my little room, guess what? I have my own! Due to a little misunderstanding with the rooms/reservations/names that cost me about half an hour of my life, I was rewarded with a single, if miniscule room. It’s quite adorable. I will upload photos later. The bathroom/TV/BED layout it quite familiar. This wonderful little space also has free, fast WiFi! And a warm shower! And mirrors everywhere! From what I hear, this is the height of luxury for our trip, but I am going to enjoy it for the three nights it lasts.
The flight in was fairly bearable. They fed us dinner and breakfast, and there were plenty of movies to watch on private screens. But my name is Marie and I only woke up to eat. Once we landed in Aukland, we had a – get this – FIVE HOUR layover. Which was very sad. Because we can see beautiful New Zealand around us but we’re cramped up in a terminal. Eventually, though, we got to hop on the plane to Christchurch. I slept for an hour of that 1.5 hours flight. I am very, very good at sleeping on planes – everyone is impressed.
Christchurch, by the way? Is beautiful. So green. So picturesque. Daddy? We can move here. I approve.
Now, before I go to bed to prepare for a full day of lectures tomorrow, a weird/cool things about New Zealand:
You can drink the tap water. It’s safe and clean. This is actually much more awesome than it sounds.
Now, bed.
